Work remotely. The best places on the planet for modern digital nomads

11/25/2024
Due to the pandemic, which began in 2020, the demand for remote work has increased significantly. More than 270 million people now work remotely around the world. In this article, we will look at some of the best places to work from home.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

One of the most popular destinations for digital nomads is Chiang Mai, Thailand. This city in the north of the country has become a favorite among remote workers. Chiang Mai consistently ranks first on lists of the best destinations for digital nomads. The city offers beautiful temples, lush jungles, modern co-working spaces, lively night markets, convenient transportation, and delicious Thai cuisine. However, one drawback is the poor air quality in the city.

Kangoo, Bali

Another great option for remote workers is Kangoo, located in Balls. This location offers a unique combination of comfort, convenience, and affordability. With its friendly atmosphere and excellent amenities, Kangoo is a great choice for those looking to work remotely.

Bali has always been a popular holiday destination, but in recent years, it has gained a reputation as a nearly ideal place for digital nomads. Kangu often ranks among the top cities in the Nomad List. The typical surfer community today includes numerous coworking spaces, Instagram-worthy Australian-style cafes, and a vibrant community of digital nomads. This has led to a significant increase in popularity. Additionally, Kangu continues to be an amazing destination for surfing during leisure time.

Ubud, Bali

Despite its proximity to Chiang Mai, Ubud has a distinct personality. In a relaxed atmosphere, you will find all the amenities for digital nomads, including coworking spaces, excellent cafes, and many other facilities. Ubud is a destination for those who prefer the forest and yoga to the beach and surfing. World-class yoga studios, which are less boring than those in Chiang Mai, and impressive waterfalls nearby are some of Ubud's attractions. Among the drawbacks, we note the distance from the beach, poor Wi-Fi outside of coworking spaces, and lack of a nightlife.

Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok sometimes gets overlooked when it comes to the best destinations for digital nomads, as Chiang Mai often takes the top spot. However, Bangkok is hard to beat, despite being more expensive. Coworking spaces, large malls with air conditioning, affordable grocery stores, and an ultra-modern transportation system – all these are easily accessible in the capital.

Saigon, Vietnam

Saigon, as it is known in Vietnamese, is similar to Bangkok in some ways, but the atmosphere in Vietnam and Thailand differs. Saigon has a significantly more modern feel than other parts of Vietnam, as it is the financial center of the country.

Ho Chi Minh City, on the other hand, is one of the best destinations for digital nomads starting out, as everything is relatively cheap in Vietnam overall. The city has plenty of coworking spaces, a large number of foreigners, and delicious food that is always reasonably priced. Additionally, Vietnam has a strong coffee culture.

Buenos, Argentina

If you want to experience a different flavor of South East Asia in Latin America, Buenos Aires, Argentina, is an excellent choice. This city boasts a diverse culture influenced by European, North American, and Latin American traditions. Buenos Aires offers an exciting nightlife, passionate football matches, and a rich tango scene. The climate is also perfect.

Budapest, Hungary

Budapest has all the beauty, culture, and charm of a European city, but at a more affordable price. The Danube river divides the city, both geographically and culturally, with the mountainous, older part of the city on one side and the modern side on the other. Budapest is a great destination for digital nomads, and if the thriving culinary scene and nightlife aren't enough to convince you, perhaps the warm baths will do the trick.
