The UK has no e-invoicing mandate (HMRC consultation ongoing). For a VAT invoice, show your VAT number, the rate per line and the VAT amount in GBP; sequential numbering is mandatory. Self-billing needs a signed agreement and the words SELF-BILLING.

A regular Rechnung with the Pflichtangaben of section 14 UStG is still fine to issue. Show both parties with full addresses, your Steuernummer or USt-IdNr., the issue date, a sequential number, the time of supply and the net amount, rate and tax per rate; invoices up to EUR 250 gross need fewer fields. Every German business has had to be able to receive structured e-invoices since January 2025; issuing becomes mandatory in January 2027 above EUR 800,000 of prior-year turnover and in January 2028 for everyone.
E-invoicing: Receiving structured e-invoices mandatory since 01/2025. Issuing: prior-year turnover above EUR 800,000 from 01/2027, everyone from 01/2028. Paper allowed until 31.12.2026, PDF only with the recipient's consent.

A regular factuur is fine: show your btw-id, both addresses, the invoice number and date, the delivery date, what you delivered, the price excluding btw, the rate and the btw amount in euros. Numbering runs as one series without gaps, and invoices up to EUR 100 including btw may be simplified. E-invoicing through Peppol is mandatory only towards central government, not between businesses; the EU ViDA rules bring cross-border e-invoicing from 2030.
E-invoicing: No B2B mandate. E-invoicing via Peppol is required only for invoices to central government; the EU ViDA rules bring cross-border e-invoicing from 2030.

A standard factura is still valid through 2026. Show both parties' NIF, addresses, and the IVA rate and amount; numbering must be sequential within a series, and autonomos add an IRPF withholding line. Verifactu certified-software rules start in 2027 (companies January, self-employed July).
E-invoicing: Verifactu (certified software) postponed: companies 01/2027, self-employed 07/2027. Standard facturas remain valid through 2026.

This template works as a commercial invoice, useful for non-resident issuers billing Portuguese clients. Businesses established in Portugal must issue invoices from AT-certified software with an ATCUD code and QR code, so a self-made PDF is not a valid fiscal invoice for them.
E-invoicing: Certified billing software mandatory for PT-established businesses.

Is the invoice generator really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on the number of invoices and no paid tier. The tool runs in your browser: your draft is kept in local storage on your own device and never reaches our servers.
Do I have to add tax to my invoice?
It depends on where you are registered and what you sell. Pick your country in the generator and it will show what that jurisdiction expects, including the usual rates and the name the tax goes by. If you are not sure whether your service is taxable, ask an accountant in your country — the tool cannot decide that for you.
What makes an invoice valid?
In most countries: both parties named with addresses, a unique invoice number, the issue date, a description of what was delivered, the amount, the tax treatment, and your tax registration number if you have one. Some jurisdictions add requirements — sequential numbering, wording for reverse charge, a specific document title. The country notes on this page cover the ones we support.
Can a company issue an invoice on behalf of a contractor?
Yes — that is self-billing, and the generator has a mode for it. Several countries only accept self-billed invoices when both sides have signed an agreement allowing it and the document is marked as self-billed. Check the note for your country before you use this mode.
Which currency should I invoice in?
The currency named in the contract. If the client settles in a different currency, say so in the notes and agree who covers the conversion — that one line prevents most of the arguments later.
Does this cover countries with mandatory e-invoicing?
No. Mandates like the ones in Italy, France or Spain require a structured electronic file submitted through an official channel, not a PDF. The generator produces a PDF or a Word file, which is fine for countries without a mandate and for your own records. Every country card on this page states the current mandate status.
Do you store my invoices or my client's data?
No. Nothing is uploaded. The draft lives in your browser until you clear it, and the finished file is generated on your device. That also means the draft does not follow you to another browser or device.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. The logo is read in your browser and embedded into the file you download — it is not uploaded anywhere.
